Past meetups
Content-First Design with Sarah Johnson
We're deeply grateful to Sarah Johnson (opens in new tab), who gave a riveting talk called Stop message misfires with the Content-First Framework that clarified the importance of a content-first approach to digital product design and development. As one attendee put it, "That's the most invigorating and substantive content design conversation I've had in ages. A rare pleasure!"
Career support, part 3: Admin night
This was a laid-back working session where we chatted about formatting resumes for ATS scanners, preparing for interviews with AI bots, and how not to lose your mind while tailoring resumes, cover letters, portfolios, and case studies for each and every job application.
Summer Happy Hour!
Our fifth meetup was very relaxing. We enjoyed a few drinks together, saw some familiar faces, and met some new friends.
Career support, part 2: Connecting the dots between your job-hunting artifacts
Our fourth UX Content meetup about finding a job in UX was inspiring. Thanks to our brave and talented volunteer, ⭐ Shivali Meenakshi Murali ⭐, who walked us through her job-hunting artifacts, we swapped stories as candidates and hiring managers to clarify how to make each artifact resonate and how to tie them all together into a cohesive narrative.
Career support: How to land a content design role in 2026
Our third meetup was an open, honest, and practical conversation about what it takes to land a content design job in 2026. Attendees shared their experiences, challenges, and strategies for career growth in the field.
Shaping what's next
Our second meetup was a big brainstorm and discussion about the purpose of the meetup. We used a Mad Lib exercise to clarify our mission and vision, and walked away with valuable insights into the community's needs and aspirations.
Kickoff with special guest: Jane Ruffino
We kicked things off with ⭐ Jane Ruffino ⭐, whose talk about facilitation as leadership beautifully reinforced that content is all about relationships.
About us
This community began in December 2025, organized by Laura Wixted (opens LinkedIn profile in new tab), with support from Ali Burke (opens LinkedIn profile in new tab) and Georgy Cohen (opens LinkedIn profile in new tab).
The goal of the meetups is to provide a friendly forum for UX content professionals to meet in person to share ideas, swap job-hunting tips, and learn from guest speakers.
The meetups are shaped by the people who show up, so if you have an idea for a topic or want to get involved, say hello in Slack (opens in new tab).
